I haven’t officially been diagnosed with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), though I suspect I do have bouts with it after my experiences of being in southwest Louisiana during Hurricane Laura on Aug. 27 of 2020.

The Grambling Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., recently teamed up with other community partners to host an event focused on our right as citizens to vote. The Delta Iota Chapter, the City of Grambling, and the Grambling Branch of the NAACP joined the members of Delta Sigma Theta to present a Voter Education Forum and Legislative update. After more property assessment appeals were filed in Lincoln Parish this year than any other time in recent memory, the police jury on Tuesday sided with Assessor Billy McBride over the appellates and certified the property rolls, sending them to the state tax commission for a final ruling.
