After more property assessment appeals were filed in Lincoln Parish this year than any other time in recent memory, the police jury on Tuesday sided with Assessor Billy McBride over the appellates and certified the property rolls, sending them to the state tax commission for a final ruling.
Lincoln Preparatory School hosted its Meet the Teacher event on Sept. 23. The Early Learning Center serves grades pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. Their primary focus is to build literacy and numeracy skills in preparation for first grade. Students engage in hands-on learning in small class sizes. The Grambling Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., recently teamed up with other community partners to host an event focused on our right as citizens to vote. The Delta Iota Chapter, the City of Grambling, and the Grambling Branch of the NAACP joined the members of Delta Sigma Theta to present a Voter Education Forum and Legislative update.
