In the early days, also, there was always one or more organized bands in Ruston. Members of one of these bands was L.C. Gahagan, Fletcher Slaton, Tave Colvin, J.O. Colvin, George Ford, May Pollard, Jim Murphey, Elmo Duncan, A. Larsen, S.P. Colvin, T.B. Finley, J.K. McAllister, and Al Neilson. Some of the tunes played by this group were “Daisey Dean,” “Darlin’ Chloe,” and “Ring the Bells of Heaven.”
