The North Central Louisiana Arts Council is thrilled to announce that Marcie Nelson has accepted the NCLAC executive director position. Having extensive administrative experience and a passion for the arts, Nelson has a B.A. in English with a minor in library science from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Library Science degree from Valdosta State University.
Two Louisiana Tech Biomedical Engineering juniors have been named Barry Goldwater Scholars. Catherine Lacey and Rebekah Lindblade are the University’s first Goldwater Scholars since the award’s inception in 1989.
Many adults feel there’s no better way to relax than curling up with a good book. Though a relaxing afternoon of reading may appeal to adults, kids could prove a little more reluctant to crack a book.
