The South has no reason for fall foliage envy. The traditional colors of autumn can be found in ornamental peppers — which can be planted into any sunny landscape to add spice and fall flair.
China Grove Church in Ruston held a Back to School Supply Giveaway on Aug. 20 at the Fellowship Hall. Every child in attendance received school supplies and was provided with lunch. Also, on the same day the church held a drawing for a school supply basket giveaway, which included a Raising Cane’s gift certificate. The winner was Madison Livingston of Ruston (middle) being presented the basket by Pastor Wilson and wife Victoria Wilson.
DEAR HARRIETTE: My motherin- law has dementia, and she recently suffered a massive stroke. She is not doing well. We have hired aroundthe- clock care for her and are even paying my husband’s sister to lend an extra hand.
