Pete and Kay (Sanders) Thiels, of New Orleans, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were married May 20, 1961 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor church in Alexandria, Louisiana. Pete and Kay, both Alexandria natives, have lived all over the state throughout their long marriage including Oakdale, Springhill, Jonesboro, Choudrant, twenty-seven years in Ruston and, most recently, ten years in New Orleans. The Thiels raised six children which include Margaret, Paul, Joanie, Joe, the late Mary Beth, and Andrew. They have seven grandchildren including Josie, Albanie, Ben, Sam, Grady, Lillian and Bea. The family will gather in New Orleans this weekend to celebrate.
