After 46 years at Hillcrest Elementary School, 23 of them as principal, Patrice Hilton was feted with a final retirement reception in the gymnasium of the campus that has been her home for almost half a century. Hosted by curriculum strategist Kelli Colvin and coordinating teacher Debbie Conn, the event welcomed faculty and community guests as they celebrated memories while offering final best wishes. Hilton was presented with a custom-made shirt (above) that featured many of her trademark sayings on both the front and back of the shirt (shown) and is seen below visiting with Ed Colvin, Minister to Children at First Baptist-Ruston.

For most of 2020, the shocking spread and danger of the COVID-19 pandemic has justifiably absorbed the attention of everyone I know. Despite these current frightening and uncertain times, DART is grateful for all who have helped us throughout our 26 year history.
