I was reading my weekly Glenn Shepard column when I heard country megastar Toby Keith had died following a valiant battle with stomach cancer. Ironically, the title of the column was “Mr. Irrelevant,” a nod to former Iowa State University quarterback Brock Purdy who was drafted dead last at No. 262 in the NFL Draft. Yet he is irrelevant no more.
