Mayor Leslie Thompson and the town of Jonesboro have been busy since his being elected to the office again in 2018. The town went through the processes to apply for various grant monies to begin work on the town’s aging infrastructure. As of Jan. 24, Jonesboro has been awarded funds from different programs totaling over $2 million with much of the money coming from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The money came in at a time when the town sorely needed it as they continue making repairs to the water and sewer system.
