With all the pink-themed events happening, it is hard to think of October being associated with any other cause than breast cancer. However, there are other issues that use October as their awareness month that hit home right here in Lincoln Parish. I can pretty much guarantee that no one would know it unless they worked in a library or a profession that revolves around the written word, but October is also National Book Month.
