Techsters bowling earns academic recognition

For the sixthstraight season, the Louisiana Tech women’s bowling team earned the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team Award. The program has now earned the award in all six seasons under the helm of Head Coach Matt Nantais.

Dixie Angels compete at state tournament

The Ruston Dixie Angels X-play 10 and under softball team captured second place at the district tournament recently, qualifying for this weekend’s state tournament. The Angels will battle Oakdale tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Johnny Downs Complex in Alexandria. Team members are (front row, from left) Aspen Kary, Leah Kate Atkins and Georgia Bryant. The Ruston Dixie League Ponytails X-play 12 and under softball team recently captured first place at the district tournament and will be participating in the state tournament today at 6 p.m. against Winnsboro at the Minden Recreational Complex. Ruston Americans advance to Dixie World Series

The Ruston 9U Americans consists of (top row from left) Coach Cody Channell, Coach Chris Doolittle and Coach Tim Shaw. Dixie Darlings advance to state tournament

The Ruston Dixie Darlings 8 and under softball team took second place last weekend at the district tournament and will be playing this weekend in the state tournament at Tioga, featuring a 12-team bracket.
