Garrett named Gatorade Louisiana Cross Country Player of the Year

In its 37th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade announced Monday that Ruston High’s Lily Garrett is the 2021-22 Gatorade Louisiana Girls Cross Country Player of the Year. Garrett is the first Gatorade Louisiana Girls Cross Country Player of the Year to be chosen from Ruston High School.

Louisiana Tech football players teamed up with the Boys and Girls Clubs in Ruston for an event this week during which the players helped serve lunches and passed out books to Ruston youth. The event was organized by Tech head coach Sonny Cumbie, Arthur Herbert, Boys and Girls Clubs of North Louisiana CEO Eldonta Osborne, a former Bulldog, and Ed Jackson, Assistant A.D./Student Development, Diversity and Inclusion.
