JoAnn Holtzclaw

Services for Mrs. JoAnn Holtzclaw, age 87, of Ruston, will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, in Ruston, with Rev. Greg Tipton officiating.

A private family graveside service will be at Douglas Cemetery.

JoAnn Holtzclaw was born in Dubach, in 1934 and passed away July 25, 2022, in Ruston after a brief illness. She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

She spent her years at home caring for her husband and raising their three children. She loved her Lord, her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for loved ones, listening to gospel music, playing (mostly winning) card games and telling stories about family history.

Mrs. JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Ivy Fuller; father, Tom J. Fuller; her husband, Mark Holtzclaw; and her son, Mark A. “Tony” Holtzclaw of Ruston.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Ann Porter and husband Steve of Shreveport, and Debbie Brister and husband Randy of Ruston, and Rita Holtzclaw of Dodson; grandchildren, Nathan Colvin and wife Wendy, Sarah Bird and husband Jordan, Stephen Holt Porter and wife Amy, Kacie Holtzclaw and Shelby Holtzclaw; greatgrandchildren, Maddie Colvin, Charlie Colvin, Piper Porter, Dalton Bird, Brice Bird and Phoebe Porter; brother, Charles Fuller of Ruston; 5 step-grandchildren, and 8 step greatgrandchildren.

A special thank you to Carrie Bishop for the love and care that she gave our mother. Memorials may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Dubach.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 9:30 to 10 a.m., at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston.
