Anna L. McKown Bleich

Funeral service for Anna L. McKown Bleich, age 96, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Father Tony Posadas will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Anna Loretta McKown Bleich left us on Saturday morning December 26, 2020, at her home in Ruston, LA. Anne (her preferred name) was born February 18, 1924, in Witherbee, NY. While having experienced challenging health issues off and on during her life, she slipped from our loving and caring hands to be with our Lord and with her husband Dr. Lamoyne Bleich.

She always reminded us that she missed him so much but just wasn’t anxious to join him. They met while he was recovering from WWII prison camp at a hospital in the U.S. She was a nurse and he was her patient. After his recov ery they moved to Ruston to join the Green Clinic and were active in the community with Red Cross and the Catholic Church. They also chose to adopt 3 children over a 5 year period, and could not have been better parents! She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Marie Bleich.

Anna is survived by her sister, Elaine Gorman; children, Joe Bleich, John Bleich and Rebecca Bleich Hummer; 4 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Saint Thomas Acquinas Catholic Church or The American Red Cross.
