Clifton ‘Cliff’ McMichael

Clifton “Cliff” McMichael, born on December 9, 1946, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport.

Services were held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 2 p.m. Rev. Reggie Bridges officiated. The family received visitors prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.

Interment followed at Douglas Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, A.I. McMichael and Ruth Burkhalter McMichael and brother Dick McMichael. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Faye McMichael; sister Amy Waggener (Gary) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; sister-in-laws Vicki McMichael of St. Louis, Missouri and Patricia Pharis (Roy) of DeQuincy, Louisiana; brother-in-law Jerry Smith (Lou Ann) of Ruston; step-children Tammy McCall (Sean) of Mt. Holly, Arkansas; Vicky Weaver (Brian) of Calhoun; Ricky Watley (Sarah) of Downsville; Scotty Watley (Elizabeth) of Kilgore, Texas; eight step-grandchildren, one step-great grandson, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins that he loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Colby Waggener, Gary Waggener, Rennie Howard, Sean McCall, Brian Weaver, and Jerry Smith.

After attending Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, Cliff returned to Ruston, where he and his dad owned and operated Burmac Construction Company.

After his dad’s passing, Cliff started a residential/commercial inspection company.

At the time of his death, Cliff owned High Speed Dental Repair Service. Cliff served in three separate branches of the armed services.

He loved going on annual beach trips, playing music by ear, and had a passion for drawing and painting. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face.

Although friends and family knew him as Cliff, he was most proud to be called “Pops” by his kids and grandkids. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Ben Grigsby, Dr. Michael Langiulli, and Allegiance Home Health for the love and care they gave to Cliff.

Planned memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home.
