JoAnn Fraser Barham (Mrs. Charles C. Barham) (Nanny)

A memorial service celebrating the life of JoAnn Frasier Barham will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church in the Burkhalter Chapel in Ruston.

The service will be officiated by her longtime Pastor from Shreveport, Dr. Greg Davis of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. JoAnn was born in Ruston on August 8, 1933, and passed away February 23, 2022, after a brief illness.

JoAnn lived most of her life in Ruston. She moved to Shreveport with her husband, Charles C. Barham, later in life to be closer to her beloved children and grandchildren. She was affectionately referred to as Nanny. She enjoyed many visits from her grandchildren and friends. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting activities and events.

During her time spent in Ruston, JoAnn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Godspell Sunday School, Altar Guild, Ruston Garden Club, Jr. Guild, and Lincoln Parish Museum Board.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter; her parents, Prentiss and Willie Frasier; and husband, Charles C. Barham of Ruston.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her survivors include her children, Karla Barham, Chuck Barham and his wife Debi, Lori Sharp and her husband Gary all from Shreveport; five grandchildren, Taylor Barham of Austin, Texas, Ryan Hinton and her husband Foster of New Orleans, Charlie Barham of Shreveport, Abbie Harkins and her husband Chris of Dallas, Texas, and Matthew Sharp of Birmingham, Alabama.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Anointing Hands of Care, especially Linda Pye and Johnnie Jefferson who were her wonderful caregivers for the past four years, and The Carpenter House Hospice.

Memorials may be made to Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home, Trinity United Methodist Church of Ruston, or Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Shreveport.
