Melissa ‘Missy’ Ann Stringfellow Goodwin
A memorial service honoring the life of Melissa “Missy” Ann Stringfellow Goodwin, 58, will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 209 N Bonner St. in Ruston.
Missy Goodwin was born September 19, 1962, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Paul and Norma Stringfellow, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, August 8, 2021, in Alexandria. Missy was married to her best friend Randy for almost 38 years.
She was an excellent cook and loved making people happy through food. She enjoyed listening to Barry Manilow and would watch old movies over and over.
Her love language was acts of service, which she spoke so well.
She took care of people and loved to see the fruit of her labor in others’ joy. Besides being a wife, her most beloved roles were being a mother to her daughters, Natalie and Emily, and being a grandmother, or “Mellie,” as she liked to be called, to her three blessings Reese, Rex and Ellis.
Missy is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Randy Goodwin of Alexandria; daughters, Emily Goodwin and fiancé Ferdinand Laux of New Orleans, and Natalie Taylor and husband Gene of Alexandria; grandchildren, Reese, Rex, and Ellis Taylor; sisters, Carmen Moore of El Dorado, and Tammy Chambers of Nixa, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support, love, and prayers during this impossible time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
