O.L. Brewster

Graveside services for O.L. Brewster, age 94 of Ruston were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Sibley Cemetery with Rev. Allison Moody officiating.

O.L. was born on July 11, 1926, in Ruston, Louisiana, to Loyd and Lydia Brewster. He passed away on December 17, 2020, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

O.L. became part of the Sibley community as a teenage boy when his family starting farming the 100 acres on the hill.

He graduated from Choudrant High School and left to serve his country in World War II.

When he returned, he married his sweetheart and settled on those same family acres. From that same spot on East Sibley Road, they served their Lord, Alabama Presbyterian Church and raised four children. O.L.’s dirt contracting company may have taken him all over Louisiana but his children have not scattered very far.

His descendants are many and well loved. They were all very special to Papaw.

O.L. was preceded in death by parents: Loyd Brewster and wife Lydia; sister: Viola Pardue; and great granddaughter: Jamie Ledford.

O.L. is survived by wife of 74 years: Maude Davis Brewster; four children: Charlotte Sue and husband Terry Williams, Lydia Laurice and husband Bobby Ledford, James Loyd Brewster and wife Chris, Karen Elizabeth and husband K.D. Williams; 10 grandchildren: Petina Williams, Joe Williams and wife Brandie, Jan and husband Marty Lewis, Tonya and husband Eric Mcculloch, Linzie and husband Jeremy Herbert, Robert Brewster, Jennifer and husband Nathan Guy, Jonathon Brewster and wife Brittany, Kyle Williams and wife Jill, Kadie and husband Pate Claborn; sister: Doris Thompson; 26 great grandchildren with two more due in 2021, three great grandchildren with one more due in 2021, many nieces and nephews.
