Ruston voters will go to the polls March 25 to decide if they want expanded alcohol sales in the city. And if they do, those sales will be regulated by a new zoning ordinance.
The city of Ruston is heading back to court Thursday to possibly find out whether a breach-of-contract suit it filed over a year ago against the company that built Phase I of the municipal sports complex will go to trial or be dismissed.
Even before Ruston’s Board of Aldermen knows whether it will be forced to call a referendum on expanding alcohol sales in the city, it’s begun dealing with controlling those sales.
Eight months after first discussing the issue, the Lincoln Parish Police Jury has chosen to accept the Ruston Fire Department’s proposal to provide emergency medical and rescue services to the entire parish for 2023-27.
