More than half of Lincoln Parish’s police jurors say want to see the Ruston Fire Department back at the negotiating table for rural ambulance and rescue services.
It would take a unanimous vote of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury to bring the city of Ruston back to the negotiating table for rural emergency medical and rescue service, Mayor Ronny Walker said Monday.
Ruston residents could soon see a $5-per-month emergency medical services fee on their utility bills if the city’s Board of Aldermen adopts a proposed ordinance that’s on its Monday night agenda.
The Lincoln Parish Police Jury’s president and vice president were aware of an offer from the city of Ruston for parishwide ambulance and rescue service for the majority of 2021 but never brought it to the jury for a vote.
