Super Supports Summer STEM Camp

The Lincoln Parish STEM Center welcomed elementary students for its first Super Supports Summer STEM Camp. The camp focused on engineering different supports for the human body. The first design project involved creating a sling for the arm. Joey Moore (above), Jadaviana Cato (middle) and Anniston O’Neal (below) work on the beginning stages of their sling design. The camp will also feature engineering a knee brace as well as an ankle foot orthosis that could be used with children living with muscular dystrophy.

Organized fires part of Jonesboro’s beautification

JONESBORO — The Jonesboro Fire Department and Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office employee Tim Wyatt teamed up to burn a house down in the downtown Jonesboro area on Tuesday evening as part of a beautification process to clean up the town.
