At the beginning of summer, I sat out looking at a newly constructed wiffle ball field at First Baptist Ruston. Crepe Myrtle trees in full bloom outlined the narrow field and a pleasant breeze made it the perfect afternoon for playing America’s favorite pastime - or at least a version of it. I’m not sure if the students participating were giddy from being out of school or being together in such a fun atmosphere. Both of my boys were participating- one had gathered his team of friends and one was the league announcer.
