Tech alum Potts honored by national Sigma Nu chapter

LEXINGTON, Virginia — Sigma Nu Fraternity announced that Frank W. Potts of Eatonton, Georgia, received Sigma Nu Fraternity’s House Corporation Officer of the Year Award for the 2021-22 academic year. A 1986 graduate of Louisiana Tech, Potts is an alumnus of the Tech Eta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Nu. “ The Fraternity wishes to salute Frank as a rare and uncommon knight who exemplifies excellence in his daily life as shown by his commitment to the ideals of the Legion of Honor,” the national chapter said in a press release. “His performance on behalf of his chapter and the Sigma Nu General Fraternity is a worthy example for others to follow.”

VFW launches Veterans Coffee Club

VFW Post 3615 has partnered with PJ’s Coffee in Ruston to offer a weekly Veterans Coffee Club. If you are a veteran, or want to meet local veterans, you are invited to join the group every Wednesday morning, 0700 to 0800, for camaraderie, conversation and coffee. PJ’s will offer 25% off all drinks and free drip coffee refills for all veterans.

One of the most anticipated community events in Jackson Parish was held last Saturday, the 9th Annual Crafty Café, hosted by the Jackson Parish Women’s Missionary Union. This event is the only parish wide WMU fund raising activity and is one the most attended events of the year.
