Guten Tag! A good time is brewing in Ruston. The 13th Annual ARToberfest Celebration will be held next Friday, at the Farmers Market in downtown Ruston. Each year the North Central Louisiana Arts Council hosts regional home brewers, micro- breweries, and a donated array of other beer-y beverages from commercial sponsors.
Terrion S. Atkins, Jr., 18, of Jonesboro, wasarrestedinRuston Wednesday afternoon on a charge of seconddegree murder in the shooting death of Bre’Untae Hicks, 27, also of Jonesboro, last weekend.
In addition to candidate elections, Louisiana voters will decide the fate of seven proposed amendments to the state’s constitution on Oct. 14 One of the proposals is rooted in the 2020 election fraud conspiracy theory, and another is the result of political differences over COVID-19 policies.
Funeral Services for Betty McCormick Ward, age 90, of Ruston will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2 p.m. in Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel of Ruston. Officiating will be by Rev. Dale Oden, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.
