There’s no hiding from the scary — but earned — sight of a 1-4 start to the season if you’re the Grambling State Tigers. The calendar might have flipped to October, with spooky sights and sounds popping up more than usual to startle folks. But the poor start on the field for Grambling State doesn’t feature the same shock value. They’ve earned what they’ve got, and you can’t run away from something you’ve brought on yourself. “ We don’t want to be sitting up here with the record that we have, but we’ve earned it,” Grambling State head coach Hue Jackson said Monday. “At the end of the day, it’s the record we’ve earned, so we’ve gotta own it. The only way we’re gonna get better is to keep working.”
