Patricia Anne Hatch

Patricia Anne Hatch, a native of Ruston, was born on March 24, 1953. 

She died on July 25, 2022, at the age of 69 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas, after a brief battle with liver cancer. 

Anne was devoted to helping those in need through her career as an Educational Diagnostician for Special Education with the Dallas Independent School District.

Her career spanned nearly 47 years in California and Texas.  Her special love was to help deaf children

Herco-workers described Anne as a professional, caring individual who mentored many in her field.  Anne’s passion led her to spend many long hours advocating for those who needed a voice.

She graduated from Ruston High School in 1971, received a bachelor of arts from Louisiana Tech from the college of education in speech, hearing therapy and elementary education in May of 1975 and a master’s of science from Southern Methodist University in May of 1979. 

Anne furthered her education through post graduate work at several universities.

Anne was predeceased by her parents R.L. and Anita Hatch.

She is survived by her brother, James R. Hatch of Athens, along with wife, Dora Ann, and their children Sarah Bell and husband Donnie of Ruston; and Katie Smith and husband Doug, of Natchez, Mississippi.

A celebration of life service was held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Jaynes Memorial Chapel-Duncanville, located at 811 South Cockrell Hill Road, Duncanville, TX 75137.

A private burial service was held in Claiborne Parish at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
